Mosfet Discrete Semiconductor

A MOSFET discrete semiconductor is an individual transistor component that controls current flow between its drain and source terminals using a voltage applied to its gate terminal.

Structure

A MOSFET consists of three main terminals:

  • Gate (G) – Controls the operation of the device.

  • Drain (D) – Current enters or leaves through this terminal.

  • Source (S) – Current flows through this terminal.

The gate is insulated from the semiconductor channel by a thin oxide layer, giving MOSFETs very high input impedance.
